The simple reason I decided to become a personal trainer in Guelph, Ontario and pursue a career in fitness is because I love it. Fitness and health is a very dynamic and exciting industry.
Every year there is new information, fads, and diets that are said to be "best". After over 8 years of training it is evident to me that what works for one client might not work for another.
We all have different body types, strengths, weaknesses, and will power. I love the challenge of being a personal trainer, having to determine what works to accomplish the goals my clients set. I enjoy the trial and error process and am driven to make sure they succeed.
That being said- I am no extremist. I don't believe in dieting or counting calories. I believe that the only way to achieve long-term success is to make real lifestyle changes. If you love chocolate then I don't want you to give it up. You need to learn to enjoy the things you love in moderation.
My training style is all geared towards functional fitness. Functional fitness to me is the fitness we need to maintain to live a high quality of life. This training involves interval training which focuses on alternating cardio and strengthening intervals throughout the session. Training sessions are located at my in-home studio in the north end of Guelph.
I graduated from York University in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology. Since then I continued on and became a Certified Personal Trainer with Can-Fit-Pro. I truly love my job and couldn't think of anything else in the world I'd rather be doing.
